Can you volunteer to help at the Newport Show this summer?

Thank you to all who have shown interest in volunteering for this years show. We have now filled all available spaces and therefore have now closed the application process.

We will be opening up volunteer applications for 2025 soon.

Newport Show is due to take place on Saturday 13TH July 2024.  Our amazing stewards bring valuable expertise, to the show and without them Newport Show would not be able to maintain its fine reputation for efficiency and smooth running, something our visitors and exhibitors continue to complement us on each year.

Volunteers/stewards at the show are asked to be available either in a morning or afternoon slot with some, assistance required all day.

Free Tickets

In return for helping the Society the Newport Show provides volunteers with a free ticket to the show (worth £25) with a refreshment voucher on the day as well as an invitation to the stewards briefing which also includes food and drink.

You could be working in the main entrance welcoming our visitors, helping trade stands set up , escorting musicians, guiding judges or directing visitors around the show ground! It’s a very rewarding role and really makes you feel part of the local community. If you’re not available on the day, we always need helpers setting up the week before either in the office or down on the show ground.

Feedback
Stewards are the Event/Show Manager eyes and ears and can report show feedback via a radio.

First Impressions
Volunteers must remember first impressions count when working with the general public.

Communication
Stewards need to be confident, happy and have clear communication skills.  Where applicable its important to thank all competitors, trade stands and wish visitors a super day and see you next year.

Point of Contact
Stewards may be the first point of contact for complaints or disruptions and these should always be referred to the Show Mangers marquee if the issue cannot be dealt with immediately.

Responsibility
Stewards need to be responsible.

Safeguarding

Stewards need to be aware of Safeguarding and may be the first point of contact for lost and found children.
