Disabled Access

We want to ensure that everyone can enjoy a visit to Newport Show.  We hope the information below will help you plan a great day out with us!

Access and Inclusion

We know that creating a warm welcome for everybody is a key part of the visitor experience and that our staff will be the first point of contact for many when they arrive.

With at least one in five people in the UK having additional access requirements, we recognise that some of your visitors may require a little extra support. This includes disabled people, older visitors and families with pushchairs.

In order to help ensure that everybody attending your event has an enjoyable and stress-free experience, we offer a two dedicated entry points for visitors. Here, they will be greeted by a member of our friendly, professional team.

Car Parking

There is disabled parking close to the pay booths in the main car park. If you display your blue parking badge, you will be directed to the appropriate car park (subject to availability). Please note parking is in a field which has uneven ground and is uphill. This is due to the topography of the site. If you arrive after 12.00, it is likely you will be parked at the back of the disabled car park which is further back to the main entrance.

Less able transport down to the showground

Newport Show is split by a sandstone ridge, which means that the car park and main entrance is at the top of the ridge. We run free tractor & trailer rides down the bank to ensure visitors have an easy, enjoyable entrance to the show. However, the trailers have 3 steps, therefore the Society provides two private ambulances to transport visitors with limited mobility and their carer from the main pay booth down onto the showground. These run from 8.00am – 6.30pm. There are two stops where the ambulance can drop you off, either at the bottom of the hill by the main entrance and Members enclosure or near the Love Mobility trade stand where your hired mobility scooter can be collected.

Love Mobility Scooter Hire

Scooters and wheelchairs can be reserved in advance. There may be the possibility to hire on the day. Please contact Connor Wilcock on 0800 999 1925

On leaving the show, the ambulances will pick up from either of the two drop off points and take you back up to the main pay booth again. The ambulances will run from 8am until 6pm. If an ambulance is not there waiting, please be patient as they have to drive round the perimeter of the showground which could take a little while. Waiting times can exceed 30mins during peak times, please ensure you have refreshments whist waiting.

Changing facilities

Changing facilities are available on the Show Ground. This includes an accessible mobile toilet, changing area for those requiring use of a hoist and/or changing bed when using the bathroom.

Disabled Toilets

Are available with baby changing around the site.
