Each year school pupils from the Newport area are invited to demonstrate their creative skills to the many thousands of visitors to Newport Show.

Sarah Evans – Founder of Silk ‘n’stuff

Is a self-taught artist specialising in painting on silk but is equally happy working with acrylics, water colours and mixed media.

With many years of experience working with children and adults, Sarah teaches all abilities and ages, including people with mental health issues and disabilities.  She has  worked in varied settings such as schools, hospitals and the wider community.  Catch up with Sarah for Story Telling & Art on show day.

Louise Turner has worked with children since 2025 in varied settings creating pottery and painting pre made bisque pieces for fun and relaxation.  Now she has her own studio in Edgmond.  Children are welcome to join Louise on show day to stimulate their creative flair.

New to the show this year we welcome local Viking’s who will be recreating the life and times of the Dark Age period, not only the battles and skirmishes of the period, but also the dress, crafts and every-day life of the different peoples of that time.  Living history is where we bring the everyday lives of the Vikings to life. It incorporates historical tools, activities and dress into an interactive presentation, giving you the opportunity to step back in time of how the Vikings lived.

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing.

But, we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
